One day you’ll sing someone into eternity.
The most sacred thing I do isn’t under stage lights — it’s at funerals. The greatest honor I carry, holding both deep joy and deep sorrow.
When someone walked with Jesus, the room isn’t ending something. It’s releasing them home.
Worship was never about the set. It’s about the soul.
Just open your hands.
Olympic judo athletes — even those blind from birth — throw their arms up when they win. Across 30+ cultures. The raised hand isn’t a religious invention. It’s how your body was wired.
The Hebrew yadah literally means to cast forth the hand. 100+ times in Scripture.
Surrender. Longing. Receiving.
Sometimes the body leads the heart home.
Another beautiful song that came out of our retreat with @sbchouston in Carmine, Texas. This is an invitation to come to Jesus!
“He is gentle, He is faithful,
you can trust Him with your heart
He is gracious, find forgiveness,
He will meet you where you are
Come to Jesus”
Hayley,
Seventeen years ago, you became a mother, and I’ve spent every day since watching something holy. Not the curated kind — the real kind. The middle-of-the-night kind. The kind that shows up tired and chooses love anyway.
Our kids won’t fully understand who you are to them until they have kids of their own. But I do. I’ve had a front-row seat for two decades, and you undo me.
Thank you for mothering them with such grace. Thank you for being Christ-like and letting me walk it with you.
Love you!
Travis

Join us for our Knoxville ONE DAY Hosted by @jordanmerritt & @spencerwgarland on July 17!
Although our Austin retreat is full, you can still sign up to be waitlisted if anything does become available!
A little music from our lives lately. It is such a gift to @travisryan and I to hear our kids making music. I’m in awe of our Creator who imagined something as beautiful as music and invites us to share in it.
FRIEND. Day 4. Wrote this one recently with @travisryan@scartermusic and @reverendreeves . I’ll never forget the day we wrote this song.

A few years ago I was struggling to find a vibe that I love. God told me “create beauty… beauty lasts forever.” I feel that when I listen to this song. Excited to share this one!

I wrote this song 5 years ago sitting in the middle of one of the hardest seasons of my life. I was holding onto hurt that was slowly hollowing me out — and honestly, I didn’t want to let it go.
This song came out of that tension. The theology I believed and the bitterness I was carrying were at war with each other.
“As I’ve been forgiven, Lord help me forgive” wasn’t a declaration when I wrote it. It was a desperate prayer.
Five years later, I’m still singing it. Because the healing is real — but so is the ongoing surrender.
If you’re holding something today that you know you need to release, I hope this finds you.

Ash Wednesday belongs to all of us.
Long before our traditions drew their lines, God’s people were already practicing this. Job. Daniel. Nineveh. The ashes were never about a religion — they were about a heart returning home.
Catholic friends, thank you for keeping this tradition alive for centuries. Protestant friends, the biblical roots run deep enough for all of us to stand here together.
What if this season we showed up — honest, open, and a little more desperate for God than we were yesterday?
The invitation is the same for all of us:
“I am dust. And You are everything.”
🖤 “Return to me with all your heart.” — Joel 2:12
How can't it be? The God of creation calls us friends. This is a new song I wrote with some dear friends @reverendreeves@jordanmerritt@scartermusic and I am excited to share it!
2:30 Am with some of the best dudes I know. We get delirious and ADD but boy we got a good one through lots of laughs and chasing rabbits. #Songwriting #songwriters
