BALANCE... Finding a balance between work and play can be so hard sometimes. So many outside things can factor into making them each a priority without letting stress creep in to ruin either. If that makes sense... Managing time is one of the hardest things we do on a daily basis. We need to work and make money to survive, but we also need to have fun and do the things we #love to keep our hearts and minds at peace. A #sober mind and body have helped me improve my personal balancing act over the last 2.5 years and days like today are proof. From knocking out some household chores...to actual work...then a fun surf with some friends and finishing it off with a #happyhour with my love @heffers0527 Wish all Mondays could be this balanced. I don't chase the camera and at my age the camera definitely isn't chasing me, but Im super #stoked that @ddaraio looked my way with his @gopro during our last #surf at #ponce of 2025. Definitely gonna be focusing on staying in shape and #surfing more in 2026. Who knows...maybe even get a few more clips by chasing more swells. Who would have known all those years ago that we would be where we are today? They say time flies when your having fun so thats probably why this past 3 years has gone by so fast. Seems like yesterday you came to see me in the OBX.. And here we are... You've helped me grow and become a better man...a better father and a better role model for my friends and our surf community. I cant wait to see how far this amazing life takes us. 3 years is just a drop in the bucket of what we're about to do. Yesterday was very special to me in many ways and proof that the Lord truly works in mysterious ways. I went to the contest yesterday planning to do some #coaching and maybe some #recruiting for @daytonabeachboardriders but when I was asked to push Gabe (son of @prsp2714 and grandson of the late Rich Murray) into waves in his first #contest it was a no brainer. I became filled with this #love and #stoke knowing that those dudes were up there watching over us. They were definitely with us in the final helping us find the best waves and helping Gabe rip his way to the win. The words of this post aren't my greatest but I assure you the feeling in my heart is. So #stoked to be part of Gabe's #healing as yesterday working with him was part of mine. I think about Jorge pretty much daily, especially days Im working at @maddog_surf_shop (IYKYK) Hug your friends...tell them you #love them. #livelikejorge and #ifyoudontknowemmowem #gromsrule ❤️💪🤙
Happy Mother's Day to someone who is an amazing mother to not only her own son @evan_allen_05 but also to my guy @kieran_ajax along with her other step son @big_nate127 Heather has also become a solid bonus mom and surf mom to all the groms we encounter. So yesterday as we're walking out the door heading to school @kieran_ajay says "Dad.. Max said they sent a thing out saying today is excused absences". I'm like yeah right I didn't see any text or email saying that...then I give him this huge speech as to why it makes zero sense to randomly miss school on a Thursday blah blah blah. Well then he shows me the text...so I check and sure enough guess who missed the text saying it was basically #bringyourkidtoworkday This guy...so I swallowed my #pride turned the truck around and off we went. I embraced it to the fullest and we both had a really great day #teaching and #learning about this #sport and #job we call #surfing #gromsrule @maddog_surf_shop@wilbur_outfitters@building_the_revolution
