REAL BAY SAM.

What an incredible weekend sharing something that I love and respect with my son. If you showed love to me, my son, or my band(s) this weekend, I canāt thank you enough.
Happy birthday to my weird, wild, wonderful eight year old Sammy. Some kids can be real shitheads and I got lucky having such a sweet kid who just so happens to be a total nutball.
A year better than the last. Hung out with the coolest kid in the word, got a cease and desist, played countless gigs with friends old and new, released new music, put someoneās kid through college, started writing a book about this past year, traveled halfway across the world with friends, and more.

If you were there, you know it was a good one. If you werenāt, this could be your year.
Itās a shame Iāve waited all these years to take trips with friends that werenāt band related. If I saw you this weekend, you were a part of a good one.
āI think itās good being a bit dangerous. Thereās a few more kids going out going, āFuck it, I can have what I want out of lifeā.ā

Traveled over 5,000 miles to see the greatest rock and roll band reunite for their first of five hometown shows. Iāve been to a lot of gigs, seen a lot of songs, but this was truly one for the history books. Forgive me for being annoying but weāll be talking about this for a long time.
Sometimes you love a band for over two thirds of your life and still get to experience them in different ways. Massive thank you to my buddy Dave for all the hospitality this weekend.
Before this run, I thought my time gigging and traveling was going to be over. I had hit a wall and was not looking forward to doing anymore shows. But these couple days with this crew really breathed a whole new life into me. Love as big as the Texas sky for this past little run.

To G, Timmy, Trey, Meat, and Hunter for sticking with me and making this trip the best one yet. To Crystal, Mike, and Draven for trusting me with their songs every night for not only these shows, but the prior two and a half weeks we did in April. Crystal pointed out there was one drive where there was no music on, only everyone in the van talking with each other and having a giant conversation amongst friends. It truly was a family affair.
When I was a junior in high school, Mr. Perry showed us āWaco: The Rules of Engagementā in his US History class. Almost twenty two years later and after years of coming through Texas, I finally got to stop at Mt. Carmel and see the site of the 1993 Waco Siege on David Koresh and the Branch Davidians.

Thankful to some of the people who are still out there for showing us pieces we may have skipped over, such as when David Koresh painted his name in the steps of the pool that was built shortly before the siege or the the top of the vault that the women and children were in that was moved later by FBI/ATF forces when the bulldozers came in to gather ā and potentially destroy ā evidence.

Iāve done a lot of cool things touring but this was by far one of my favorite days ever.
Still recovering from Bad Worldās JAG weekend. It was hard to be away from my son on his birthday but I couldnāt have imagined being surrounded by any others than the ones I had. Iāve seen a couple people say this already but for most of the weekend, I didnāt have to charge my phone because I was completely locked in and present to what was happening around me. A goofy thing to say but a testament to how there was no place anyone else would rather be than right there.

Special shout out to G, Timmy, Nate, Trey, Will, Sassyās, Jackpot Records, Devilās Point, Spy, Brainstem Productions and everything they do for the PNW, Beyond All Doubt, The Church Cantina, and the boys in End of Dayz for all the love this past weekend.
Happiest seventh birthday ever to my son Sammy! Watching you grow up has been the absolute best. Thank you for being the coolest, freakiest, most loving kid ever.
