📷✨ This is what happens when young people are given the space to shine ✨📷 "Let’s Frame It" wasn’t just a photography exhibition - it was a chance for local young people to be seen, heard and celebrated 💛 From photography workshops to a real gallery wall at the Rosalie Gallery in Goombungee, young participants stepped into the spotlight, shared their stories and showed just how powerful their perspective can be. And it didn’t stop there 👀 Across the region, our QLD Youth Week activities reached hundreds of young people, creating moments of connection, creativity and confidence. 🖼️ Let’s Frame It is open until the 17th of May - go check it out and support our young creatives! #QLDYouthWeek #LetsFrameIt #YouthVoice #CreativeYouth #YoungPeopleShine #YouthConnectTR #ToowoombaRegion

FINAL WEEK | Packed with personality, ‘A murder in Crows Nest’, is a humorous selfie of a family of crows. The idea for this painting was sparked by the artist Janice Kerr’s day job as a scientist. Janice says, "Crows are inquisitive, so when scientists put out camera traps which are activated by movement, the result is often lots of photos of crows." You can see this artwork, and more in ‘Crows Nest – A Sense of Place’ on in our Crows Nest Gallery until Sunday 17 May. 'Crows Nest – A Sense of Place’ is a visual journey by the @artistsofcrowsnestqld that captures the character and charm of this special town. Have you seen the vintage High Country Coffee van and tasted their coffee? What about the fragrance of locally grown flowers at the Blue Pantry? Have you spotted a koala on the Applegum Walk? or trekked to the Cascades? Did you know about the whispering seat in Centenary Park? It is a fun thing to try with children or a friend - sit at either end of this seat and whisper - you should hear each other quite clearly. The Artists of Crows Nest Inc. have captured all this and more in this exhibition, with the added bonus of autumn colours, now is the perfect time to visit this special part of the world. The exhibition is on display at Crows Nest Gallery until 17 May 2026 Image 1: Julie SWEENEY / Morning cuppa at the van 2025 / acrylic on canvas / 40.6 x 30.5 cm / © Julie Sweeney Image 2: Robyn HENDERSON / The Blue Pantry / mosaic on board / 41.5 x 31.5 cm / © Robyn Henderson Image 3: Zena SORRENSEN / Applegum Walk: Pump Hole 2026 / acrylic and ink on board / 40.6 x 30.5 cm / © Zena Sorrensen Image 4: Marie CLEARY / Nature’s canopy 2026 / acrylic on canvas / 40.6 x 30.5 cm / © Marie Cleary Image 5: Sharon MCKELLAR / Whispering seat 2026 / oil on canvas / 40.6 x 30.5 cm / © Sharon McKellar Image 6: Christine BOUGHEN / Lest we forget, Crows Nest Qld 2025 / watercolour on paper / 44.6 x 34.6 cm / © Christine Boughen Image 7: Pam SHIPMAN / Beauty in shadows 2026 / pastel on board / 40.6 x 50.8 cm / © Pam Shipman

Crows Nest and the High Country Hamlets are a treasure trove for nature lovers, foodies and those with an interest in history. Crows Nest Museum and Historical Village will take you back in time, with a range of buildings lovingly restored by volunteers, including "The Shed", Ray White's first office. The picturesque scenery in the area invites leisurely drives, long lunches and picnics, as well as opportunities for challenging hikes and mountain biking. With the Crows Nest Markets at Centenary Park this Sunday, it’s the perfect time to visit, and while you are here pop into Crows Nest Gallery to see paintings of this beautiful region by members of @artistsofcrowsnestqld . ‘Crows Nest – A Sense of Place’ is on display until 17 May 2026 Crows Nest Gallery New England Highway and William St Crows Nest QLD 4355 Image 1: Carol CHAY / 1902 From humble beginnings 2026 / acrylic and ink on canvas / 40.6 x 50.8 cm / © Carol Chay Image 2: Linda GALLIGAN / Nolans 2026 / watercolour on paper / 36.8 x 45.8 cm / © Linda Galligan Image 3: Deborah BURTON / Grass trees at Hartmann Park 2025 / acrylic on canvas / 40.6 x 50.8 cm / © Deborah Burton Image 4: Sharon MCKELLAR / Cascades, Crows Nest Falls 2026 / oil on canvas / 40.6 x 50.8 cm / © Sharon McKellar Image 5: Kath BROWNSDON / Early settler 2026 / acrylic on canvas / 40.6 x 50.8 cm / © Kath Brownsdon Image 6: Jennepher HOPE / Crows Nest Markets 2026 / oil on canvas / 40.6 x 50.8 cm / © Jennepher Hope
