A little audio reactivity for my Tuesday evening. This song title translates to new beginning. Fitting for this fire horse lunar new year. I am a metal horse sign so time to melt me down into something stronger and more refined. That’s the goal anyway 🔥 #chromaticfutz song: Ny Begyndelse By: Bremer/McCoy
Ten years ago today I powered through the all consuming grief of losing someone I loved and cracked myself open pushing past my fear and doubt to a place of experimentation for the sake of nothing other than the act of creating. So many ideas in my head that had stewed without progress due to fear and self doubt. Ten years ago today I turned on the projector and mapped for the very first time. I mapped a huge wall with @beeple_crap loops and truly felt everything in the universe align. I don’t think I cried then because I was too numb but I cry now. Tears of pride and joy. So much work and pushing and learning and growth and failure and trying and trying and trying. So many relationships built and memories made. I have to say thank you to that incredibly broken version of myself that chose to honor my loved one’s memory with strength and not weakness. Thank you for turning the projector on and choosing to do it anyway even though you were afraid. I still have so many ideas stewing but have learned that it’s ok to be afraid and it’s ok to go slow. There is no timeline and when you look back ten years you will be so impressed.
Took all my videos at the beginning of the nights but happy to report there were lots of people filling the space every time I walked by. Cheers to an amazing difficult wild experience. Looking forward to the next time.
Throwback to my very first interactive projections in 2013. Canvas is the side of my garage. I had purchased a refurbished projector on Amazon for $120 and found an Xbox Kinect camera on Craigslist. Using #vdmx and the OpenKinect driver library (that someone way smarter than me had created for free on GitHub) it began. I’ve never stopped. This is going to be my art form forever. Wild how far it’s come. The future is bright 😎📽️✨
Part 1 of many. This project has gone slower than I imagined it would but I’m glad. I’ve learned so much throughout the process and it’s far from over.

Another great 4th of July weekend. Something about projecting on a swimming pool leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. #touchdesigner #generativeart
I couldn’t trim this clip any more than this because I love the whole song start to finish. Really this belongs on a wall and it’s dumb to watch it on a phone anyway but I enjoy looking back on this log of work…kind of like a sketch book.
