Everyone deserves a ticket to ride! 🎟️ 🚋 That's why we're supporting a Transit Access Fund to make Zero Fare permanent. It's also why we are hosting a Ticket to Ride Game Night! 🎲
Join us at the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia and Transit Forward Philly offices for a games night where we'll be playing Ticket to Ride, a board game where you build your own railroad! No experience is necessary to join and feel free to bring any other games you'd like to play, especially if it has a "transit" theme!
Food and drinks will be provided. RSVP at the events link in bio!
Philly needs a People’s Budget that funds transit and public goods. Thanks to the @peoplesbudgetoffice for hosting us for office hours and for empowering Philadelphians to speak up for the budget we deserve.

🗣️ Without a statewide transit funding solution, SEPTA had to tap into the capital budget that is meant for repairs & safety upgrades, putting SEPTA’s safety & reliability at risk. We need a statewide transit funding solution to improve SEPTA and transit all across the state!

Philadelphia's students deserve freedom of mobility! 💪🏽 🚃 Earlier this month, YaNia and RJ, two @bicyclecoalitionyouthcycling 🚲 leaders, spoke up on behalf of their peers in support of making a universal student fare that would expand student's ability to reach the opportunities around the city.

Philly needs a budget that moves us! For the last month, you’ve spoken out at public comment, city council hearings, and neighborhood budget town halls for investments in transit across Philly.
You’ve shown up in every Philly neighborhood in church halls and community centers with one message:
Zero Fare, Key Advantage, Student Fares and Investments in @septaphilly keep our city moving.
Your voice matters. As Councilmembers and Mayor Parker work on a final budget, contact your city elected officials to make sure transit funding is a priority.
This fall, your voice will be needed in Philly again as we campaign to make Zero Fare permanent through a Transit Access Fund in Philadelphia.
Let’s keep the momentum rolling! 🚌
Currently, grades 7-12 can get a free fare card, but with the strict rules in place, our students can't use them as they need. Things like after-school clubs, part-time jobs, and sports practice can mean losing the chance to use the card.
Shoutout this incredible crew of transit champion Broad Street runners! 🚇
We love the 🅱️ and ran to make sure it gets the love it needs from Harrisburg and City Hall.
Thanks to everyone who chipped in to our team to help raise over $3,500 for transit advocacy in Philly.
Let's keep the momentum going - sign up at the links in our bio and see you on Broad Street same time next year!
🗣️ This is your chance to speak up for a budget that keeps Philly moving! 👟 🚃 🚲 Take a look at our budget priorities and use the guide (linked in our bio) to craft your public comment, then join us on May 6th at City Hall for City Council's Public Comment session.
Yesterday, Councilmember Rue Landau introduced a resolution authorizing hearings on SEPTA student fares. Right now, SEPTA student fare cards only work during school days, only from 5:30 AM to 8 PM, and only for students who live over 1.5 miles from their school. But, for students who are participating in after school jobs, extracurriculars, sports, and more, those costs of travel add up. It’s an unfair system, and one we need to dive deeper into fixing. If you’re interested in expanding student fares, sign the petition at the link in bio.
Transit service is still in danger, everywhere in PA. State leaders need to take action now!
SEPTA has robbed its safety and accessibility budget to keep service going. That money runs out next year. Service cuts will be back next summer and will impact Philly as well as transit systems across PA.
We need reliable, long-term investments in transit service all over Pennsylvania. You can organize with your neighbors to win it. Join transit riders and workers from all over the state to learn how to stand together and win the investments we deserve.

On Monday, YAC member Mark joined Councilmembers Landau and O'Rourke and student fare advocates around the @transit4philly coalition to speak at a rally to preserve and expand student fares in Philadelphia.
Mark Laywhyee was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia, and was a Philly school student before graduating a few years ago. He was heavily involved in extracurriculars, like sports and music, and when his parents couldn't drive him around, "what [they] did have was the Student Pass Program to fill in the gaps."
Mark used his student pass to travel the City, which ultimately inspired him to achieve higher and advocate for the transit system that still supports him today—as is the case for many students from Philly.
