To our wonderful trans and gender diverse community; we see you and we celebrate you â¨ď¸
International Trans Day of Visibility is celebrated on the 31st of March every year. It is a day to celebrate trans and gender diverse people around the world, our stories, our advocacy and our achievements. Thank you to Rachel Crandall who created Trans Day of Visibility in 2009, and to so many trans advocates who continuously work to advance trans and gender diverse rights.
Trans Day of Visibility is also a day of solidarity; inviting allies and cis advocates to stand boldly alongside us. There are many ways to get involved and to stand up for trans rights this TDOV and beyond.
Here are a few small ways to start from the TransHub team;
1ď¸âŁ Be a good friend, lover, employer, teammate and neighbour. Trans people live everywhere and there is a good chance you already know quite a few. Use TransHub pages to get you started, and keep learning.
2ď¸âŁ Donât wait for trans and gender diverse people to show up before you make us feel welcome. Start building safety now and create a welcoming environment that shows trans people are safe with you.
3ď¸âŁ Protect access to gender affirming healthcare by remaining aware of trans rights in your local area - keep up to date with trans healthcare by following AusPATH or trans advocacy organisations like Trans Justice AU or Equality Australia.
4ď¸âŁ Practice using the correct pronoun and name for trans people; but remember, it's more than lip service. Itâs about trans people having a right to dignity, safety and respect.
Visit the official website for more info about Trans Day of Visibility (link in bio) & remember that allyship is a continuous process, not just a single day.

We're thrilled to be supporting the film 'Thesis on a Domestication' as part of this years Mardi Gras Film Festival.
Based on her provocative novel, Camila Sosa Villada is radiant in the lead role (credited only as âThe Actressâ), hyperaware of the scrutiny sheâs under as a trans woman in the public eye. Exploring the added pressures on queer and trans people to conform to societal expectations in order to be accepted, Thesis on a Domestication asks if itâs possible to rewrite the rules.
The screening starts 7:00pm Saturday 21 February at Dendy Cinemas Newtown. Come along and support trans talent on the big screenâ¨

ACON is organising an LGBTQ+ Community Death Conversation in Sydney đ
Although weâre all going to die someday, death has become a taboo topic to discuss in Australian society. But as LGBTQ+ people, we are all about breaking taboos, right? You are invited to a community discussion about death and dying. Be a part of a relaxed conversation about end-of-life concerns in a safe and welcoming space.
Who is this for?
Lesbian, gay, bi+, trans and queer (LGBTQ) people 18 years or over and People Living with HIV (PLHIV), interested in talking about death.
This is not a bereavement or grief counselling workshop. Whether you want to share your knowledge and experiences, ask questions, or just listen to your community, all are welcome.
What to expect?
⢠Explore important questions: What does death mean to you? What does End of Life look like to you? Break the taboo around death and freely discuss topics that may be considered off-limits.
⢠Open conversations: This is not a counselling or bereavement support group, but rather an opportunity to hear from our community from all walks of life, including yourself!
⢠Share and listen: Share your own thoughts, listen to your community, and hear from LGBTQ+ people working in the death-sector.
⢠Morning tea: Share a cuppa and some tasty treats, thoughts and laughter while we create art that helps us discuss death, dying, and end of life.
All conversations will be held with confidentiality, respect and compassion.
Date: Saturday 17 January
Time: 10amâ1pm
Location: Herb Greedy Hall, 79 Petersham Rd, Marrickville.
Limited attendees.
