Konkurransen ble gjennomført som en begrenset arkitektkonkurranse med åpen prekvalifisering, i regi av Bertel O. Steen Eiendom AS, fasilitert av Norske arkitekters landsforbund. Hele 35 team søkte om å få oppdraget om videre regulering av de to tomtene.
12. februar inviterer vi til medlemsmøte hvor Transborder Studio og SLA presenterer vinnerforslaget.

At the edge of Norway, where the Barents Sea meets the sky in a palette of grays and blues, Ocean Stories by Transborder Studio rises from the harbor of Honningsvåg as a quietly radical gesture.
Neither ostentatious nor deferential, the structure embraces its setting with an architectural language rooted in the material and cultural rhythms of the North Cape. Designed as both a museum and civic space, the building is the first installment in a larger vision to reimagine the harborfront as a nexus of knowledge, community, and ecological dialogue. @transborder_studio@johan_dehlin

We look forward to be presented in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia 2025, opening this week. Under the theme «Intelligence. Natural. Artificial. Collective.», curated by Carlo Ratti, we will present our visionary project «Ocean City» – an exploration of how cities can be built in a way that creates more nature.
About «Ocean City»
With the project «Ocean City», we challenge the established methods of urban development in port areas. Traditional construction methods have a significant climate impact and create inadequate conditions for marine life. Through an innovative approach to construction and material use, Transborder’s team of architects, engineers, and marine biologists demonstrate how architecture can have a negative carbon footprint while contributing to regenerating nature in the Oslo Fjord. @labiennale@crassociati
