One of our comrades, a trans Palestinian refugee, is facing housing eviction after being unable to work since last summer due to medical issues.
After going to housing court this month, he needs to come up with $3000 by 4/24, or face increased fines of close to $12,000.

Maria is a late 20s trans-woman who works as a personal care assistant. She loves: kids, animals, making ceramics and music. In different venues, social centers, libraries, and reclaimed spaces around the world — and virtually too — we seek, together and in unison, to pay tribute to the Chicago Martyrs and to all workers who fight for social emancipation, against the state and capital.

Good news: Our client, “Elena”, arrived in the U.S. seeking refuge for the intense persecution she was facing in Honduras for being a trans woman, but was unlawfully detained by ICE. Elena was persecuted twice in Honduras - once by her family and then again by the government.
We worked with @transasylumsupport to have her granted a deferral of removal under the Convention Against Torture Treaty, and although our client remains detained, she is at least protected from a deportation that could cost her her life. We’re working on keeping her together with the chosen family that she has worked so hard to find safety and belonging with, here in the United States – her home.
The fight for her freedom continues, and we need your help.

There have been increasing reports of ICE arrests at in-person hearings throughout the country. We translated the guide into Spanish to broaden its reach. You can find a link in our bio to download the full PDF version. If you see any issues with the translation, please leave a comment, and we will update it accordingly.
