For a child with severe malaria, every minute matters. In rural communities, reaching care in time can mean the difference between life and death. Community health systems are helping to change that. #worldmalariaday #endmalaria #globalhealth

Today is World Malaria Day. 🌍   In 2024, malaria caused an estimated 610,000 deaths globally, a slight increase on 2023. At a time when global health funding is under pressure, partnerships and community-led solutions are more important than ever to end malaria.   Through our programmes, we’re helping children in remote communities access life-saving treatment faster. From community health volunteers identifying severe malaria, to bicycle ambulances providing emergency transport, these local solutions are saving lives.   Watch our reel to learn more about these community-led systems, and read stories from health professionals, volunteers, and families at the link in our bio.   #WorldMalariaDay #WMD2026 #EndMalaria

In Chitambo District, Zambia, some women travel up to 150km to reach maternal healthcare. But more women are now seeking maternal healthcare earlier in pregnancy, and choosing to deliver at health facilities. The Mobilising Access to Maternal Health Services in Zambia programme (MAMaZ) and its successor, MORE MAMaZ, supported the scaling up of the national Safe Motherhood Action Group (SMAG) initiative in Zambia to address barriers that prevent timely use of maternal healthcare. 🎥 Hear from Chitambo District Nursing Officer Namwinga Katowa. #MaternalHealth #WomensHealth #GlobalHealth #ReelsForGood #SDG3

Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls. This #InternationalWomensDay, we’re celebrating five women who are helping transform transport and logistics. Melody is challenging stereotypes on the road as a motorcycle rider in Zambia. Sherly is advocating for safer minibus taxis in South Africa. Yolande is encouraging women to step into leadership in the minibus taxi industry. Charity is bridging the gap to life-saving maternal healthcare as a bicycle ambulance rider. And Maria is helping shape the future of the logistics sector. Their stories remind us that when women have the skills, opportunities, and support to lead, entire communities benefit.
