My article “Using International Human
Rights to Address Anti-Transgender and Anti-Gender-Affirming Care Laws in the United States” has just been published in the journal Social Sciences. This article explores the forced internal migration and displacement of trans and nonbinary communities in the U.S. and argues how it violates several international human rights laws around healthcare and forced displacement. This was an argument that I had been mulling over some time and completed the first draft during my sabbatical. Thank you to everyone who supported me through this. A special shout out to @thisisdrb for the writing retreat this summer! The time spent with your wonderful family got me through the edits and ready to submit. Also a special thank you to the amazing community @trans_e_motion for your inspiration to write this piece.
Thank you everyone who attended Trans-E-Motion, PFLAG Fresno, and Fresno Inclusive Foundation’s Transgender Day Of Visibility at The Queer Space. We ended our activities with a fun and affirming guided paint by our Artistic Director, Arien Reed. Thank you to the Inclusive Collective for bringing your peace and positivity to kick off our event with a guided yoga session. Then hats off to CV Queer Line Dancing for kicking up our heals and heartbeats with line dancing to Beyoncé. Lastly a thank you to Arien Reed for sharing his artistic talent and vision for our accompanying Gender Euphoria Exhibition. Thank you to everyone who attended and all of the volunteers who made this event so impactful. Thank you the Fresno Inclusive Foundation’s Queer Space for letting us host our event and the Gender Euphoria Exhibition. We honor the beauty and talent of our diverse trans community always. ❤️🏳️⚧️❤️
