Thanks so much @dittany.of.crete for including me in Summoning II. This is an outstanding compilation, that I'm currently on my second playthrough of. My contribution is based on the idea of an ancestral mound and was created with voice, guitar, synth, field and found sound recordings. ✨

Zone of Avoidance is a meeting point between Marax and TrailOfGhosts (Texas), a split release shaped by the vast, unknowable expanse of space and the internal reflections it provokes. Both artists lean into patience as a core principle. Sounds are not rushed—they are allowed to exist, to breathe, to stretch into passages where the smallest shifts carry the most weight. Tones flicker like distant signals; textures drift like cosmic dust suspended in endless black. There is a deliberate avoidance of density for its own sake. Instead, restraint becomes the guiding force, creating a sense of openness that mirrors the infinite. Each track occupies its own orbit, yet both works remain in quiet dialogue—connected by mood, by distance, by an unspoken understanding of space as both external and internal. TrailOfGhosts - 'Songs of Disquiet'. Inspired by the writing of Fernando Pessoa. Book of Disquiet specifically - a collection of journals from 1913-1934, published posthumously and translated from Portuguese to English. Parts 1 + 2 'Cold Hearth' includes reading from the passage 'Funeral March for King Ludwig II of Bavaria'. Created with vocals, samples, guitar, analog synthesizer and drum machine. Parts 3 + 4 'Virgin Mother of the Absurd World' was recorded in one take. Accordion, guitar feedback and analog synth. “There is no fire in your hearth, she said. So, why have a hearth? I hesitate to write reviews as I lack the relationship with words to properly describe intricacies of releases. But I am always listening to the work of my friends/contemporaries to keep me company in life. I had a lovely listen to A Surfeit of Lampreys by @fleaspit_thegoldenspiral this morning. Not only did this assist in the anxious energy I wanted to complete my chores, it assisted me on a looping tour through the dank recesses of my tortured mind.😁 I need to visit here every so often. I thoroughly enjoyed this and repeated the last track because it's my favorite. 🙌

I am having a listen now, and really enjoying the diverse collection of supernatural/occult/horror inspired tracks.
