Ever since @islabeauty was just a baby idea, I’ve been dreaming of launching a lip product that treated dry, deflated lips the way we treat other skin issues — not with one off temporary relief, but with deep care and active ingredients. We set out to create skincare for lips, and it’s better than I ever dreamed.
Lipid Layer was a labor of love — a truly new lip balm is not easy to make in the year of our lord 2026. We had thousands of formulas spanning 20+ countries, sampling everything from diaper rash to eczema creams in lip formats, experimenting with tints and textures, exfoliants and plumpers.
