✨2025 HIGHLIGHTS✨ Kingston 2025 Launch - Saturday 3 May in Kingston’s Ancient Market Place! ⭐️ We were honoured to provide the choreography and professional cast of dancers for the event’s headline performance, Athelstan Among Us, and were delighted to be involved in such a celebratory event. Crowds in Kingston were treated to a colourful spectacle of music, dance and street theatre as the Royal Borough of Kingston launched its six-month festival of arts and culture. Kingston 2025 was a landmark cultural celebration of past, present and future in the borough. The flagship celebration marked the 1100th anniversary of the crowning of King Athelstan, the first King of a united England, right in the heart of Kingston in 925. We joined a wider cast of professional actors and community performers, and were accompanied live by the Ukrainian brass band, Freedom Pulse. ✨2025 HIGHLIGHTS✨ JACK DEFROST visits Dance for Parkinson’s group at Creative Health Camden 🍃 Back in July, our co-directors, Julian Lewis and James Aiden Kay treated the Dance for Parkinson’s group at Creative Health Camden to a special JACK DEFROST performance and participatory workshop in their community garden, with musical accompaniment from Anna Gillespie. Julian and Anna are regular facilitators of the group, so this event concluded a whole term of learning about the production, and exploring the choreographic ideas and design elements through movement and music. This fun and welcoming class is beginner/intermediate level, and provides a space to learn new skills, exercise and express yourself creatively. Devid’s Bio… 🎶 Devid is an Italian born musician and composer based in London since 2003. He graduated from Goldsmiths University of London in 2010 with BMus in Jazz and Popular Music Studies. Devid has over 20 years experience in gigging and recording all over Europe in a variety of music genres. Since moving to London in 2003 he has shared the stage with artists such as Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac), Dan Aykroyd (Blues Brothers), Martha and the Vandellas, Eska and Matthew Herbert to name a few. Devid has also gained studio skills by recording in world-renowned studios such as Abbey Road and Metropolis Studios. Devid is an accompanist for dance classes at London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) and Trinity Laban. He has recently composed the music for a collaborative show between Rambert School and Botswana’s dance company Mophato Dance Theatre, choreographed by Jason Mabana and Andrew Letso Kola, that took place at the Natural History Museum last year. Looking back to September, and it was a real treat to continue exploring our new partnership with Portsmouth Museums - across several days… we visited the Charles Dickens’ Birthplace, delved deeper into the background of the site & collection and began studio-based research to explore choreographic ideas for future projects.
