TEETH: A FREESTYLE

I couldn’t make this post without putting art to it. This took me a while to post because I needed it to be right. This— is my story.
January 30th, I had my top wisdom teeth pulled. I was not prescribed antibiotics.
Over the next week, I found myself with a swollen face, unable to stomach any food, in excruciating pain.
February 5th, I went to sleep, only to be awoken by my girlfriend because I was violently shaking with a 105° fever.
She got me up, got me to eat food and water, and that’s when I felt my tongue swelling. It was getting hard to breathe.
We get in the car, and she gets me to the nearest clinic. I can no longer talk due to the swelling. The infection was so bad I required intubation, but they couldn’t— my tongue blocked my throat, and was only getting worse. My airways were closing off; my countdown had started.
I’m taken to Summerlin Hospital, and they start plans for surgery the moment I arrive. The only option left is an emergency tracheostomy— done with me awake.
I went in for surgery, where I remember flashing lights, the surgeons yelling to breathe, and then… waking up the next day with my dad holding my hand.
I had less than 30 minutes left of my life when they saved me.

I spent 13 days in the hospital, with a trache in my throat, Penrose drains in my neck, and on every antibiotic IV known to man. I even went back under to drain the infection out a second time.
I was stuck on a clear liquid diet, living on juice, jello, and chicken broth (which I found out had gluten— I have celiacs). I lost so much weight that I looked like a skeleton.
On that final day, I walked out on my own two feet, never looking back.

6 weeks later, I’m gaining my body and strength back, and mentally… I’m unshakable. There’s a fire burning within that nothing can EVER put out. If death can’t stop me, nothing ever will. I’ve been reanimated, unchained, unleashed.
I’ll never live with regrets again, I’ll never hold myself back again, I will become the greatest thing I can be; I’m going to become a monster.

One & Done; No Take Backs
Learning to dance for myself again, so I decided to start a small series uploading these once a week. Set my phone down, play a song, dance one single round, and upload it regardless of what happens. Learn to forgive the flaws, but push for perfection the first time around.
That aside, stoked on this little round! I always beat myself up when I film, to the point that I push myself to record 20+ times and hate all of it. It’s very liberating to let all of that go and still enjoy what I created, lol.
