Melaina Kol is back Saturday 4/12. When we had them last year, I was fortunate enough to catch them twice: once at the tiny couch I directed and again at the spaze. I weeped both times from the sheer beauty. It was celestial. It was seraphic. I felt the presence of a higher power whisk me away and show me what peace felt like. One of the best bands in the world right now, if you were there last year you know it to be true. They’ll be on tour with one of the great new Asheville groups @auntantband , rising up amongst the echelon of modern slowcore. Locals are my two favorite bands in South Carolina, @poorlydrawnhouse and @totalpony . Special request by the touring bands to have these two on it. Wonderful how life works out like that. Orũa also hail from Brazil and feature former members of one of the most important ‘90s bands, Built To Spill. Can’t believe Randy of all people described Eternity. Honored to have them at The Spaze :’) Some Anniversary Group type deal. On 8/11, we’ve got Dry Talker on tour who just released an insane EP with our homies Julia’s War. changing rock and roll. Caught them while Rocco was on tour and they blew me away. Very happy to have them in Columbia. And of course, what’s a good funeral without a dance party? So we’ve got the Maya Wang and DJ cel.cs goin’ back to back to end the night. Thus here lies the best band in Columbia. What a life it lived. Don’t say you missed it.
