Spring is in full bloom at the table. Fresh florals cast shadows over our richly dyed napkins.

Tulips, anemones, poppies... Irving Penn’s botanical subjects often show blooms that have passed their prime — sometimes more beautiful in their impermanence.

We had the pleasure of hosting @tortugaforma to share Andrea’s collection of rare Japanese textiles and highlight the specialized craftsmanship behind these fabrics and paper techniques gathered through her travels across Japan.
Guests experienced Natsuko Saka’s handcrafted, naturally dyed basho-shi made from Okinawan wild banana plant fiber, alongside handwoven ramie with kasuri-dyed threads and traditional mud-dyed silk cloth.
The full collection will remain available to view and specify at Sample House for those who missed the opportunity to discover these remarkable materials and consider them for future projects.
Thank you @arzuorann and @brielledestine for helping bring this event together.
Sunlight does the styling. We just bring the napkins. Outdoor dining season starts now 🌸

Powdered sugar over flaky layers, butter softening into a fresh scone. Our favorite pastries from @otwaybakery plated on Tortugaware.

Baking has gotten messier (and more fun) with small helping hands. But the best part is still the moment of truth — the pan flip, peeling off the parchment, the first slice. — Andrea
You can almost taste Wayne Thiebaud’s paintings with paint layered as thickly as frosting. Each slice practically begs for a fork.

Can you peel an apple in one continuous strip? Old superstitions say that if you throw it over your left shoulder, it lands in the shape of your future lover’s initial.
