It went on to win the most iconic award in custom car culture — the Ridler Award at the Detroit Autorama, the most prestigious custom car show in America.
Just earning a spot at Autorama means you’ve built something special. From there, the field is narrowed down to eight elite contenders known as the Great 8 — the absolute best cars in the country. And in 2012, two guys from East Texas took their ’55 T-Bird all the way to the top.
They did it.
Today, they’re still pushing the custom car world forward. Matt is the owner-operator of Torq’d Design, building high-end hot rods at the highest level. His brother Johnathon owns Sparc Industries — you’ve seen his steering wheels in some of the finest builds out there.
