The Toronto Jazz Festival grew from a modest eight-day event in 1987 into one of North America’s premier jazz festivals by focusing on high-profile headliners, expanding free outdoor performances, and embracing a wider, “jazz-related” musical scope.
Originally known as the du Maurier Downtown Jazz Festival, it now attracts over thousands of patrons annually, taking over the city for 10 days each summer!
