Derby, the OG and our forever puppy 🤍
A few days before Christmas we lost our companion of just over 10 years, and we’ve been struggling to come to terms with him not being here anymore.
The last decade has brought (and taken) so much from us, and Derby was by our side throughout. Never missing an opportunity to cosy by our side - his way of saying everything will be okay.
The house feels incomplete, and we’ll miss him forever.
Two flights, 24 hours of travelling and a very jet-lagged few hours of sleep but we all made it up to Griffith Observatory about 30 seconds before sunset on our first night in LA ✨
Just like that, Ross’ paternity leave comes to an end, Matti turns 4 weeks old tomorrow & we move into a new phase of life as a family of four.
The past month has truly been a whirlwind of emotions, tiredness, gratefulness and everything in-between. Trying to savour moments that you know won’t last forever whilst being in the thick of it is so much easier said than done, but for now, we breathe in as many moments of calm that we can 🤍
We brought our beautiful boy Matti into the world earlier this week & we are so in love. His birth was transformative & more powerful than I could ever have imagined - even more so since it was close in time to the year’s anniversary of my Mum’s passing.
Navigating pregnancy, preparing for birth and then bringing our boy safely into this world has been the most intense 9 months of my life. Matti’s arrival in many ways feels like a magical gift from her showing us that joy can exist alongside grief.
I so appreciate those who have reached out, it means the world. @russforsyth has been my absolute rock through it all - and I cannot wait to navigate life as a family of four together 🤍
2024 didn’t start the way we wanted it to - but we have a lot to be incredibly grateful for as we close out the year. We could not be more excited for what’s ahead & to grow our beautiful family in 2025.
