All summer long, Toronto Outdoor Picture Show is 𝙂𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨 – won’t you come too?
This year’s Going Places programme explores everything from travel within cities, across countries, and into the wilderness, to voyages made across land, sea, space, and time.
🚲 We invite you to meander through the city to join us as we set up our traveling cinema in three Toronto parks from June - August, escaping together to a programme of journey-themed films under the night’s sky.
Join us for open-air cinema at a park near you!

It’s officially a wrap on TOPS’ spectacular 15th anniversary season, and we are reflecting on very special memories we made together this past summer. Here are some highlights:
🍿 TOPS welcomed 36,610 people to enjoy FREE public programming
🎉 38% more attendees than in 2024!
🎥 37 Canadian filmmakers were showcased on our big screen
🎞️ $36,249 was paid to Canadian artists to show their work
We are so proud of what we presented on our big screen this year, and thankful that so many of you came to celebrate community with us and each other. We also want to thank the thousands of attendees who made a donation to support the festival — YOU helped us make this happen!
Unsurprisingly, 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲. Welcoming more attendees doesn’t result in more funding, but higher attendance DOES result in higher production costs. And the patchwork of funding that supports TOPS’ free programming has not grown in step with increased costs, resulting in a ~$𝟮𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱.
𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗯𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿-𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆?
Even $10/month helps us crucially with cash flow year-round, because our lean full-time staff works all year to create a big summer festival each year.
Visit topictureshow.com/donate to make a tax-deductible charitable contribution today. Your 2026 festival thanks you!
🎬 Calling indie filmmakers
