I can finally say that I will be playing Al Bryant and Norman Whitfield in Ain’t To Proud at Transcendence Theatre in Sonoma, California 😊. I’ve know that I booked this show back in March, so I’m so glad to finally post about it! I feel so blessed and grateful to be working with this company and cast, many of whom I’ve worked with before or am just good friends with. Looking forward to sharing the joy that I will be feeling on stage with the audiences. This spring is 20 years since I got a call out of the blue from the casting director for Dora the Explorer Live, Dora’s Pirate Adventure with an offer to come join the tour as a medical replacement for the male swing! I didn’t even remember this audition…it happens that way sometimes. I believe I had maybe a week notice to get my life organized and go join the tour, my first major Equity tour! I joined the company in Greenville, South Carolina and started learning my first track which was the male lead role of Boots the Monkey! A week later I made my debut in Baltimore. Over the next 13 weeks I learned and performed 3 more tracks, traveled the country and Canada AND performed at Radio City! That was exciting because my Grandfather flew in from Portland to see me 🥹. Being a part of this show was such a great experience and I got to work with some people that are still very near and dear to me.
