On a crap day in a snowy Kentucky field, James Caan walked up to me and said “hey Tony Pizza - you got an extra smoke?” He was recovering from his 3rd bout of pneumonia in 6 months and at 76 years old, I probably should said no but it’s James fuckin’ Caan so of course I said “sure Jimmy”. He lights the camel light and says “ya know, everyone in prison smokes menthols” to which I ask “you’ve been to prison?” He smiled and with a glimmer in his eyes said “nah, but I know a lot of guys who have.” Haha. Some great memories working with James Caan. A standup guy for sure. Stay cool, Jimmy~
