A quick look at some of the tools built into the ToneWinder that support the winding process.
This post covers the pickup calculator, gaussmeter, and pickup library. This allows a pickup maker to not have to buy a gauss meter, polarity tester, and a number of books trying out to find all of this information.
ToneWinder Series: Winding Modes
This winder has fit into my shop so well. It gives me real control over how I wind my pickups. I’ve tried other CNC winders, and this one not only lets me do everything I need for my shop needs it’s also SOOOO easy to use. I’ve spent way too much time fighting with other CNC winders. Below is a quick line about each mode in the @tonewinder .
Manual: True hand winding — the motor spins, I guide the wire myself.
Constant: One placement rule from start to finish for consistency.
Table: Placement changes in planned stages across the coil.
Scatter: Built-in variation without me touching anything.
Emulate: I guide the machine with the knob, and it remembers the pattern.

I’ll be doing a series of videos on the @tonewinder , breaking down its features as I actually use them in my shop.
