Last night @anginedepoitrine played a secret set at @tomvenue which meant I was lucky enough to catch them twice from the front row within the space of 20 hours. Pretty bonkers! This performance was slightly shorter but just as sweet. It would be ace if they played @greatescapefest again today, right? Who knows. Anything is possible in the world of Angine De Poitrine.
Next week, for one week only, we're screening a four-wall installation of the epic film #TAKKUUK
Created in partnership with the charity @in_place_of_war as part of their @earthsonicproject programme, the installation sees the renowned Northern Irish electronic duo @feelmybicep - otherwise known as Andy Ferguson and Matthew McBriar - visual artist @zaknorman and filmmaker @charlievideo collaborating with a number of Indigenous vocalists, including @katarinabarruk@andachanmusic@haunter_t_96@joseftarrak@nuija_band@niilas__ and @sillathroatsingers

Two incredible artists join us at Notes at The Old Market on 9 June.
London-born troubadour @nikolas_barrell brings his rich blend of folk, country and blues, shaped by years spent travelling the world and gathering stories, sounds and collaborators along the way. Expect uplifting songs, beautiful musicianship and the kind of set you can truly settle into.
Joining him is the acclaimed @helloastridwilliamson — former frontwoman of Goya Dress, whose debut album was produced by John Cale of Velvet Underground. Across a remarkable 30-year career, Astrid has collaborated with artists including Johnny Marr, Bernard Sumner and Lisa Gerrard, while carving out a singular sound of her own. Her latest record, Shetland Suite, was named Mojo Magazine’s #1 Folk Album of 2024.

I’m really excited to be DJing in Brighton this Friday at @tomvenue as part of the Seeds of Hope event, celebrating David Attenborough’s 100th birthday and also my own birthday 🎉🌱
I hope to see many of you on the dance floor for a very special night.
I’ll be playing an immersive audio-visual DJ set, surrounded by visuals drawn from the landscapes where I recorded my last three albums — Romania, the UK and Bulgaria. These places have shaped my sound and this set brings them together in one live journey through music, video and nature soundscapes.
If you’d like to come earlier, I’ll also be speaking as part of the evening’s talks — six inspiring voices sharing stories from the climate movement.
If you’re just here to dance, I’ll be on stage from 10:30pm until midnight
To celebrate, I’ve got a special offer:
🎟️ Free tickets for the DJ set

Join us for a unique panel discussion bringing together a Brighton-based global artist and the team around them. The event offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at what it really means to build an artist project outside of the traditional music industry model.
As the industry continues to accelerate, artists are expected to be everywhere at once - touring, promoting, creating, and showing up. But for some, that model simply does not fit. This conversation explores what happens when perceived limitations lead to new systems, and when the response is not to force the artist into the existing structure, but to build a new one around them.
Through honest dialogue, the artist and the team will unpack how they have built their own infrastructure across the project.
Alongside the practical realities of running an independent creative operation, the panel will also explore how care can be embedded into the work rather than added as an afterthought, and how the industry should evolve to support artists as whole people, not just as output.
We’re inviting industry professionals, creatives, and audiences alike to rethink what support really looks like and to consider how access, care, creativity, and infrastructure can be built into the same system.
Part of our Future Creative Leaders (FCL), We, Generate programme for Brighton Festival 2026. Featuring live events, conversations, and a youth takeover, it’s a space for experimentation and community.
