Well the season is over & the points a counted! It appears that I have won the Masters Class championship! I so happy to have won this year, but I’m feeling bittersweet about it. This is my last season racing with the Greatest group of guys you could ask to be apart of. The past 7 years have been a real treat & at 76 it’s probably time to stop. It’s exhausting, hot & painful to drive a kart fast. But the camaraderie has more than made up for it. I am so happy to share the championship podium with two past class champions, both legends! Mike Gray who was runner up in second & Randy Raridon who finished third. I wish that the podium was large enough for everyone but sadly not the case, but Scott Smith who finished the season in fourth was the most improved driver, jim Linden finished fifth! Bob Kaminski was sixth & Rick Rickerson was seventh. Can’t forget Mike Trnkia who won every race he entered!!! If it wasn’t for his pursuit of a masters degree we all would ha in ve stepped down one position. It’s going to be very hard to not want to chase those guys around the track, they are the Best, Fairest & Cleanest racers that I could have ever dreamed of racing against! The memories of these days will have to see me into old age. I can only hope to find some way to be a small part of it. Believe me you can’t win a championship without the help of others! Besides the help that the competitors happily gave me when I had problems at the track I want to thank Jim Perry at CKT who solved so many problems for me it is funny & Wild Bill his motor builder who builds & maintained my motors THANK YOU! I could not have done any of this without the support of my wife, Deb who put up with this crazy addiction for more than 30 years! I guess that now I’ll have to go to all those family events that I missed! Again Thanks to all my competitors, the memories will last forever ❤️
