One of my favorite things about building my own house is creating ways to do things that usually take 2 or 3 people. In November, it was time to hang the windows. One set was 4' X 6', another 5' X 8', and then there were the sliding glass doors 7' X 12'. Just lifting them by myself was next to impossible. But I had to lift them without them twisting or sagging else they would break. Then they had to be held in place while I made little adjustments so they'd be plumb & level.
Here the photos of what I engineered. All windows & doors were hung with only moderate use of profanity and without incident.
It's been a minute since I've posted an update on my current project. Since I'm laid up for a bit and can't continue building, I thought I'd post some things. Here's some photos of the roof being built back in October & November. It has many layers just like good art & great desserts.

My current creative endeavor is designing & building my home. It's just now beginning to take shape. This time I'll be using techniques that I've never used before. It makes the process more difficult & ups the odds of failures but I get the chance to learn new things. I love creating things and the challenges that come with them.
My buddy Peter Lundgren died yesterday. He was a good person, with a warm heart, friendly smile, and good soul. We need more people with character like his. The world will miss him. My thoughts are with his son and daughter.
It's been 40 years since I hosted this TV show. It wasn't anything I aspired to or thought I could do. Just an opportunity that presented itself & I said yes. It gave me an opportunity to try things I never imagined and work with interesting people from different worlds.
I've continued to say yes to things outside of my comfort zone which contributes to a very interesting life.
Still, after more than 5 decades on the tennis court, I continue to struggle executing what I was told in my very first tennis lesson, "Keep your eye on the ball & move your feet."
