During skateboarding’s slow down in the early 90’s, Tom Penny emerged as a gifted and humble talent in the UK. Deathbox quickly transitioned to Flip, releasing the “marijuana leaf” as Tom’s first-ever pro model. Produced in 1993 and sold only in the UK, the bright yellow marijuana leaf deck was unmistakably Tom Penny, even though his name was deliberately featured only on the top graphic.
The newly named Flip Skateboards moved to the USA in 1994, where they released their first pro board graphics, “the Butt-Kiss Series”. Tom’s marijuana leaf deck was supposed to be made in a 7.75” size USA edition, but with the turmoil of relocating the company, the plan got left behind, and it was never released in the United States.
Until Now.
Tom’s Leaf deck is finally available for everyone, hand-screen printed in Southern California, by Flip Skateboards co-founder, Jeremy Fox, and notably in its original colors, with low concave, with a 4/20 release date
