Hello from #asakusa ,Tokyo🇯🇵
I was born and raised right here in Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s most historic and lively neighborhoods. I spent my childhood in my grandparents’ art and gift shop, just steps from Sensō-ji, Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple.
Surrounded by creativity and tradition, and meeting visitors from around the world, I developed a deep love for art, storytelling, and the meaning behind thoughtful gifts.
Later on, I found myself in San Francisco, where I fell in love with creating art and designing meaningful gifts. Looking back, I realize how much my childhood in my grandparents’ shop has shaped the work I do today, and that makes me incredibly happy.
Asakusa is a vibrant, fun, and beautiful place. I hope you’ll get a chance to visit someday!

This is the first step in making a new keychain: a paper prototype✂️ I design the charms on the computer, print them to check the real size, then cut them (again and again) to test the placement, size, and colors until everything feels right. This process is always so enjoyable.

Back in 2010, I set up my first studio in SoMa, San Francisco. City life was full of energy and inspiration. It really sparked my creativity and design work.
In 2020, I created my second studio in Seattle (that’s the photo!). Tucked away in the trees, it’s become a calm, restorative space where I can slow down and recharge.

I've been working on a new embroidery product. The tiny details like the eyes on the Golden Gate Bridge Twins are still a challenge but I’m getting there!

Spring has arrived, and in Japan, cherry blossoms are a symbol of this beautiful season. Across the country, people celebrate with cherry blossom festivals and enjoy hanami (flower viewing) in parks with family and friends. At night, the cherry blossoms reveal a different kind of charm, known as yozakura (night sakura).
For me, spring's arrival is also marked by the return of my favorite Sakura Latte at cafés.
This is why this design, blending the beauty of San Francisco with cherry blossoms, holds a special place in my heart.

My yard in San Francisco has many visitors. I often see squirrels and rabbits scurrying away when I return home. Sometimes, a family of deer appears in front of my window. At night, raccoons make noise as they wander around.
The only animal I haven’t seen yet, and perhaps that’s for the best, is a bear🐻
I created this artwork on a full moon night, imagining that every animal might also be gazing at it through the Golden Gate Bridge.
