Earlier this year, I was commissioned by Jane Le Bon to produce a series of large Marie Antoinette–inspired cakes for Waddesdon Manor’s Christmas event “A Grand Festive Tour” inspired by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild travels. Waddesdon Manor 2025… What an amazing experience working with the awesome @tomlebon and @janelebon to create a paper scene for @waddesdonmanor_nt s Christmas celebrations this year. Using references from Vienna, including Palais Albert, Palais Rothschild and St Michael’s Church, I created 5 paper houses to tell the story of Christmas morning. @tomlebon brought the magic, by digitally mapping the windows, and using the clock to illustrate the events of the day happening in each window at that time. I will post a video of the piece with the mapping after I pop up and visit in a couple of weeks 🥰 I don’t think I’ll ever forget the excitement of watching the snow fall and the church doors opening for midnight mass for the first time! @thisisnathanward created the beautiful trees around the table to really make the whole room a festive wonderland 🥰 Thank you to Matt from @gfsmithpapers for all his advice - the piece was made from 270gsm Bright White Colorplan paper as we needed to balance strength and translucency.
