As much as I know there’s a lot to be grateful for, picking up my phone to write this has honestly been difficult. I get overwhelmed and stressed by the chaos in the world, especially the chaos in Nigeria, and every time I think about it, I just sigh deeply and feel drained.
But I will not let Nigeria or the troubles of this world steal gratitude away from me.
I will not refuse to say thank You to my Maker for another year on earth.
I know there have been countless times I walked in my foolish ways yet He still redeems me every single time.
The younger me, two decades ago, definitely did not see this version of me coming. The person I am today, the person I am becoming, and the person I’m still growing into. I remember a time when I didn’t even know places like the ones I now exist in were possible for someone like me. So sometimes I pause and just ask, “How? How did I get here?”
And all I can say is: God, I’m grateful.
I’m grateful for the “yeses.”
You have been intentional with me.
When I look at the trajectory my life has taken, even without knowing what the future holds, I know God has been intentional about my journey so far. And if He has carefully crafted my path till now, then I trust that He has already gone ahead to prepare an even brighter future for me. He is making every crooked path straight.
With this heart full of gratitude, I say:
