Dreamwork, a film series we’ve been working on for a year now premieres on December 10th in @isbn_plus gallery Budapest.
The first episode features Nicole Clore — the legendary alter-ego of dancer and choreographer Csaba Molnár @csaba_molnar_nicole_clore .
Nicole Clore is a world-famous choreographer, educator, singer-songwriter, theatre and film director, art writer, critic, game and character designer, psychotherapist and dance artist.
In the first episode of the series you will join Nicole and the show’s hosts inside the virtual reality of Dreamwork, where one of Nicole’s wild dreams comes to life and sweeps the crew into its perfect storm. We travel to a landscape shaped by fantastical creatures, symbols piercing through bodies, and composite identities, inhabited by infrastructures that whisper the stories of shared fantasy.
Dreamwork is a long-term experimental documentary series initiated by Tamás Páll to explore relationships and worldmaking built on shared fantasy. The project archives and simulates the otherworlds that emerge between the hosts and the participating artists who developed long-term alter-personas, living multiple lives over many years. Each episode focuses on a new character, and a network of identities gradually building an interconnected narrative where Dreamwork participants meet and relate across episodes.
Nesting opens on January 25th at @discotec.art .
In my first solo show in Vienna, the gallery space will host a 3-channel video and several scraps and artifacts from a branching story and research I’ve been working on in the last 2 years.
Nesting conjures a community of squatters and urbex role-players, who summon rituals in construction sites and record them as memory-worlds. In the center of the 3 channel video installation the simulated avatars of the community talk about their experiences that unfold in obscure goverment locations set in Hungary, their methods of transforming into animals and infrastructure and their origin story that emerged from a disillusionment in universal worldviews. This interview is coupled with research videos on real-estate projects, urbex social media videos and behind the scenes footage.
Come by to the opening at 6PM if you are Vienna.
2nd photo was made by @szombathy_and_ras during the ETERNIT exhibition in Budapest.
I’ve been working on Lair for the past few months, researching biodomes, synthetic bodies and squatting.
Lair is a series of interactive installations and cinematic game scenes. In the current set of scenes a group of virtual beings dwell in a never fully built biodome that was modeled after Pannon Park - a spectacle in Budapest that turned into a futile government project. The story revolves around the dwellers of this virtual dome and how artificial biospheres and real estate projects intertwine with storytelling, coexistence dynamics, virtual embodiment and role-play.
The crossreality prosthetics (the physical parts of the installation) of Lair are an aluminum frame and a microcomputer, an unearthed plaster infused PC case, soil and shell samples and a web interface that can be used to interact with the installations.
The first iteration of the installation was exhibited on the coast of Danube at a pop-up exhibition called Petrichor and the current phase of the work is now exhibited at Ludwig Museum in Budapest (on view till 27th November).
On Wednesday from 7PM we will do a screening and talk with @csaba_molnar_nicole_clore about dreams, fantasies and desires that we share with each other and the audience in @isbn_plus
In the next few days I will be sharing some teasers from Dreamwork.
In the first episode Nicole Clore @csaba_molnar_nicole_clore shares one of her dreams, that is rendered as a virtual world in Dreamwork.
The premier will be in the 10th of December in @isbn_plus in Budapest at 19:00.

On June 11th we will perform Dreamwork.live with @csaba_molnar_nicole_clore in @ail_vienna starting at 5PM
Dreamwork is a film and performance series that strings together dreamwork rituals evoked by alter-egos, XR technology and altered-states of consciousness.
Dreamwork.live is the first live iteration of the series, transforming dreamworks into a live reality distortion field.
Tamás Páll and Nicole Clore, the characters of the first chapter of Dreamwork will augment the space of the Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab through a gamified guided tour.
The performance invites the audience to participate in a guided tour, that reaches towards otherworlds, bleeding through the bounds between fact and fiction to extend the frame of reality of the here and now.

Ešte do konca januára môžete navštíviť aktuálnu výstavu Archive III (Baby) maďarského kolektívu Hollow. 🫂
predstave blízkej či vzdialenej budúcnosti a alternatívnych spôsobov spolužitia.”
- úryvok z kurátorského textu Natálie Drtinovej
