Last week I found myself in Rhodes officiating the wedding of two of my closest friends. Very surreal but completely right - I've expertly 3rd-wheeled with them for long enough now that this felt like the appropriate next step. But seriously, I was so touched that they asked and it was an honour to be a part of this beautifully personal, unique and considered day with their friends and family. Huge congratulations to @bellacook and @andymb_92 (The Coenos) and here's to their future together! 🍾

@rhydianlewis pointed out that the last feature cast & crew screening I went to was in 2013. I was still editing the film as people arrived, threw Rhydian into doing the opening speech instead, played the first half of the film on one DVD, arrived late with the second half, changed over the discs half-way through, and showed a film with missing VFX and placeholder credits.
It’s a relief to say that 11 years later the cast & crew screening for PROTEIN went perfectly. It was so good to see everyone again after the intense shoot 3 years ago and to celebrate this ambitious project together. Huge shout out to @deadbird12 ’s vision, @russandchips ’s tenacity and the whole team at @broadsidefilms for making this happen.

What an amazing few weeks in Greece. Highlights include the people, the food, the landscape, the history, the culture, the summer cinemas, the sunsets, the Tsipouro, the people. Huge thank you to the wonderful Alex and Apo for being my hosts and travel agents!
I spent a lot of time with Greek people and learned a lot about their country, so it would feel wrong to just post pretty pictures and not at least acknowledge what Greece is going through. Their country has been devastated by fires and flooding on a scale difficult to comprehend, even just in the time I was there. Not only that, but the frequent tragedies and daily ways in which their government is failing them and hurting them is desperate - look beyond whatever the Greek government says. It really puts things into perspective when meanwhile at home one of the biggest issues seems to be a reduction in speed limits.
Had a bloody brilliant 3 days shooting a bloody brilliant short film in my own house with bloody brilliant people. Would highly recommend. Now for the clean up... maybe, at some point
