Tom Fowler - The Ultimate Alliance versus Dr. Doom at Castle Doom 2026 - 44” x 17”
I had a vision for @tomfowlerart and he manifested my imagination into this massive interconnected piece. It truly is my Ultimate Alliance!
I have thousands of hours playing that game, making endless combinations of teams and many fond memories of playing co-op with my friend Paul.
As soon as I received my epic Cyclops and Jean piece from Tom, I had a vision for this project and it has never diminished. Tom was so wonderful really thinking through how best to accomplish connecting the pieces. We went all in together with four 11x17s with thirteen total characters. I am eternally grateful that Tom was willing to take this on, and the dedication Tom showed.
What also stands out with Tom’s work is his insane ability to manage an extremely dense composition layering hundreds of figures on top of one another. I love how you feel the true scale of battle and can still feel Castle Doom looming in the background. I love the creativity with all the Doombots and I’m especially a fan of the flying waves of Doombots in the sky, which is perfectly reminiscent of the X-Men animated series “The Final Decision.” There’s a story in every inch of the piece.
