Constant humidity and temperature differences caused the components of this 4-string to disintegrate.
When „The Passengers“ were on the road in the 80s, their bassist @tomapic played this instrument. His father bought the bass at a flea market. A friend of his welded the already defective machine heads into solid rings.
The bass was built in Markneukirchen around 1960. The name Migma has existed since 1943, when 16 master craftsmen decided to form a cooperative to make themselves independent of the publishers.
The model is also known under the name „Elektra“ or „Musima“, a mixed word of musical instrument making and Markneukirchen.
After the band’s success in the 90s, the instrument was returned to the case and stored for a long time.
Now the bass is changing hands and will be seen live with @vampyresofficial in 2025 in its restored state with new visual details.
In Forte, the sound is as indescribably brutal today as it was then.
