Saturday 23nd May - Groove Relation
Groove Relation returns for another event with a deep dive into UK sound system culture, led by Nathaniel Danter. Over the past two years, the event has been celebrating the raw, physical energy of records and the roots of underground club music across Manchester.
This time, they land at Eastern Bloc, with Nathaniel joined by Tom Body and Tom2Traxx. Together, they’ll take dancers on a journey through UK music from 2001 to 2026, spanning techno, dubstep, UK funky, and garage — all played strictly on wax.
Expect selections drawn from influential labels such as Unttitled Unknown, Tempa, Hessle Audio, Livity Sound, RKS, and DMZ, delivered with the weight and warmth.

We’re back. Room2Move is taking over Honey Street Studios in Cheetham Hill on the 9th May with North 90. This time we’re throwing a day party so electrifying we’ll have people dancing from The Spärrows to Strangeways.

Our headliner? With a knack for creating raw, classic dance sounds for today’s ravers, Liverpool duo North 90 have turned their producing hands to late 80’s Euro house, high NRG, electro, and dreamy 90’s piano-house to name a few genres.

Josh and Becca have been building their presence in the underground scene for the past few years and now word-of-mouth is spreading about their hard-hitting, era-specific sounds. You only have to listen to their mix ‘Early House and its influences 82 - 95’ to instantly know what they’re about.

Fast-forward to today and North 90 have released two EPs on the elusive M.A.D Records along with one on SKYLAX and have thrown down a 4-hour set at the infamous Panorama Bar in Berlin.

Is there any wonder why we’re so excited to host them for our first sunny (hopefully) day party in Manchester.

On the day? Expect proto-house jackin’ sounds galore as North 90 bless Cheetham Hill’s venue of the moment, Honey Street Studios, with a four hour extended set (5pm – 9pm). Spring will be in full flow, doors open at 2pm, and residents Tom2Trax & Liam Oliver will bookend the performance as usual.

@tom2trax is a Manchester/Wigan based DJ who runs Wigan’s Alltrax Radio, throws city-centre parties as one half of Room2Move and has released club cuts on @sprechenmusic as well as his self-released abstract/ambient sound.
Marcus Paulson - Garden City
This track has such a thick ‘Mr Fingers - Washing Machine’ style bass and the whole production screams Chicago 1989. It was however released in 2023 and was made by Manchester-based Marcus Paulson. Every time I play this out on a proper system, the section where the bass line plays solo for a few bars gives me chills.
Nomad - Devotion (Pangaea’s Edit)
Enough time has passed since this record’s release where I’m proudly packing it again in my record bag. Ultimate UK rave vocal, dense bass stabs and ethereal breakbeats - this is just a perfect dance floor heater and I’ll be playing this a lot this year.
Jamie Principle – Date With The Rain (Hurley’s Club Mix)
The perfect mix of thumping kick and breakbeats, with soulful sax and uplifting vocals. This record has been in rotation for a few seasons now for me, and it fits into so many situations: when you want to let the crowd breathe in the club and break the tension, or to bring some extra heat to an extended bar session - top stuff.
David Alvarado – Klugh (Main mix)
Although I haven’t played this record in a while, I picked it up for about 50p a few years back and every time it makes itself back into my bag, it’s a joy to play. The huge, washing synths really open up a dance floor and raise a few trance-induced smiles. And those congas - need I say any more? If your hands aren’t into air for this one I think you may be dead inside.
Buzzin’ to welcome James Greenwood aka @semiskimmed_edits down to the next Alltrax at @easternbloc_ next Friday the 13th ! James may be at the forefront of the deep cuts of disco scene and a dab-hand at the editing razor, but he also knows a thing or two about deep jackin’ house, stateside acid and funk-driven music of all varieties. 💿 @tom2trax joins as usual with a showcase of Chicago-wise drum machine music, hands in the air Italo, bleeps and breaks and much more 💿 9-3am 💿 £5 OTD
Ahead of our DAY PARTY at Atherton’s finest underground, grassroots music venue-slash-pub, ‘The Snug’ - we’re bringing KP and T2T to the Alltrax airwaves as a run up to the event. From 8pm, the Red Laser and Piccadilly Records prime-dancefloor selector Kickin’ Pigeon will be bringing his much-admired record bag to the Granary. His club sets are known to traverse gritty Italo, Detroit/Chicago house stylings, and all manner of dub-inflected, new-wave adjacent disco and dance-oriented electronic music. When it comes to radio, Pidge is known dive deep into the chasms of electro, Italo and many highly-specialised genres and scenes worth their salt in the underground dance sphere. Do not miss this show and accompanying day party on Saturday!
💿
From 9pm, Tom2Trax will tease in some selections ahead of the Snug’s 2-hour-Saturday-Service. Tom’s record bag is currently fuelled by healthy addiction to MOS Recordings’ back catalogue of Chi-town leaning drum machine workouts, some acid-tinged, Swedish, dubbed-out stompers and a handful of records from the late 2010’s that have just not been given enough club-air-time in recent years.
💿
Tickets are limited for the gig and can be found in the link in our bio!
