I Use this LUT on ALL of my Videos (really) 🎨 🎥
The Everyday LUT is a tool I developed to help streamline my own color grading workflow. It’s the result of years of experience, learning, failing, and repeating.
Last year, I made this tool available to the public - and man, I’m so glad I did. This LUT has helped thousands of people improve their color grading and post production workflows.
Little known fact - this LUT has been used by some of my (and your) favorite creators (and some of the biggest names in the camera & tech world).
A few months back, I released the Creative + Conversions Pack for The Everyday LUT. It’s the same look you know and love, but this pack offers built-in Rec.709 conversions for your favorite LOG profiles - meaning, you can drag and drop a single LUT onto your log footage and watch it be instantly transformed into The Everyday look.

How I Grade 95% of my videos 🎨 🎥
These are the simple steps I take to color grade the overwhelming majority of my videos. I specifically designed The Everyday LUT to streamline my color grading workflow, and it’s been my single greatest time-saving asset since its development.
The Everyday LUT works across all camera types, since it’s a stylized LUT that is designed to be applied AFTER a proper log to rec709 conversion LUT.
Real talk, most of the time I can genuinely apply just this LUT and it’s good to go. Other times, I make some minor tweaks and adjustments, as you saw in the video.
This is not magic, and I don’t claim that this LUT will turn BAD footage into GOOD footage - NO LUT CAN DO THAT.
But what I can promise is that The Everday LUT is something I have worked very hard on and a tool I use every single day in both my professional work as well as my social media content - and now, so many of you guys are using it too, which is one of the coolest things to see 🤙

The NEW Sony A7R VI (6) 🎥/📸
This is the brand new @sonyalpha Alpha 7R VI (A7R 6). In many ways, it’s the mark of a new generation of Sony Alpha cameras and it’s one of the most powerful cameras overall that Sony has ever made.
Note that while Sony did send me this early access unit for testing, they did not ask for anything in return and they did not get to preview this video or script.
The A7RVI will be offered for $4500 USD and should become available in early June.

How to Avoid Noisy / Grainy Video 🎬
This is how to fix your noisy / grainy video footage - or simply avoid it altogether.
I mention dropping shutter speed and opening aperture to let more light onto the sensor. This is true, but of course, if you’re using an ND filter, that’s another way to control light. You don’t typically want your shutter speed in video lower than 1/double the frame rate (unless you’re going for a creative look), so be aware of that.
In addition to this exposure tip, make sure you’re shooting at your camera’s base or native ISO values whenever possible. Not only is this CAMERA specific, but it is also PICTURE PROFILE specific!

The Best Camera Cage Feature 💯
You might have heard me mention this in the past, but it stays true as one of the most important features of any camera cage.
Nobody is sponsoring this video by the way.
For the most part, Falcam / Ulanzi seem to be the only cage designer that continues producing cages with only one point of contact. Some of their cages, like the ones for the FX3 / FX30 have more than one point of contact, but ALL of their cages should. Also, why not captive screws and built-in tools?
Smallrig doesn’t have to be the cage you go with. I have just been using their cages for years alongside other brands and overall I prefer their designs. Although, Falcam’s quick release system is really great 🤷♂️

The Best Camera for POV Video? 🕶️
I’ve been using the @raybanmeta AI glasses (Gen 1) for about a year now, and I genuinely think these might be the best “camera” for capturing POV content.
I’m always shocked at how lightweight they are, for any pair of glasses, really, but especially because they pack so much technology while still feeling like a pretty normal pair of glasses, and I’m happy to be a #RayBanMetaPartner #aiglasses

A Trick to Know 2nd Base ISO 🎬
On Sony camera sensors (and most other mirrorless cameras from my understanding), there’s a little trick to help figure out what the second base / native / gain ISO is.
Per picture profile, the native ISO values will change, but if you know the first base ISO value (usually the lowest number you are able to select without an underline or warning), you can easily calculate the second native value using this trick.
