Last week, we spent time on the ground in Oworonshoki profiling representatives for Love in a BOX 2025. Many of these families have faced the harsh reality of forced displacement, and our mission is to ensure they aren’t forgotten. Profiling isn’t just about data; it’s about looking our neighbors in the eye, hearing their needs, and ensuring that every BOX finds its right home. Celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child was truly special! 💖 I had the absolute pleasure of teaming up with my dear sister @bolasodun , the convener of the BFF Conference, to spend time with some amazing young girls at Ijero Junior Girls School, Ebutte. We had open and insightful conversations about crucial topics like sexual and reproductive health, and menstruation, and were able m to provide sanitary towels to 108 girls. A personal highlight was our discussion on friendship and the beauty of building ‘forever friendships.’ It’s so important to nurture those bonds that start at a young age. The conversations were incredibly insightful all thanks to the amazing Convener of Building Forever Friendships @bolasodun @bfflyfstyle It was such a good time, and you could feel the girls were encouraged and inspired. It’s a powerful reminder that every time girls see images of women doing amazing things and making an impact, it lights a fire in them. This day was a beautiful testament to the fact that we can all do so much more, even with so little. I’m so grateful to our sponsors and volunteers and to @bolasodun for doing this with us and for all the good work you do. This was probably the best day I've had in recent times!🥰🥰🥰🥰. Earlier in the year, I had penned down as part of my 2025 goals to visit secondary schools and share life lessons with them. And so to keep me accountable, I shared this with my good sis @olori_ishola , especially because of the work she does with @togetherforneeds . As the year went by, I had totally forgotten about it because 'life be lifing.' Until recently, when she reached out to remind me and asked if I was still interested. That conversation sparked up the dream in me again, and I was excitedly looking forward to the day. Last week, in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child, I partnered with the @togetherforneeds to visit the young girls at Ijero Girls Junior High School, and it was a dream come true for me🥺🥰🥰🥰. I totally enjoyed connecting with the students while sharing life lessons, and their energy was so infectious! We had such a beautiful time together. One of the many highs for me was teaching them about the importance of friendship and gifting some of them copies of my book #BuildingForeverFriendships. The low for me was when we distributed sanitary towels to them, and one of them asked if she could use one pad for one day during her period😲🥺😢 I haven't been able to get that off my mind🙁...(Please, if you'd love to partner with us to do something about this burden,kindly send me or @togetherforneeds a DM) In all, I left that place with a feeling of fulfilment that’s hard to put into words. Our hearts are full and watching this highlight brought real joyful tears to my eyes. ❤️ What might have been just a “no longer needed” item sitting in your children’s closet became a source of pure joy for other children. Our recent Back to School outreach was a powerful reminder that what one person has outgrown, another can receive as a profound blessing. To every single person who donated new and neatly used items, THANK YOU.
