When I first cut my hair, a friend said I looked like a “Dotun” (a traditionally male Yoruba name). Damn, but fair enough. Everyone’s entitled to an opinion. In mine, ‘how to be a woman’ is a conversation only to be had with myself.
Don’t play down your nuance
Although I am a lover of the arts, I haven’t always seen myself as a creative, often choosing more conventional paths. Recently, I was given the opportunity to creatively direct my first project for @aunti_social ‘s birthday. Tapping into this new space has been both humbling and rewarding.
