This past weekend, I joined my incredible team at
@cksi.ngo on a heartfelt medical outreach to the Iwaya community in Yaba, Lagos.
Our goal? To provide free rapid genotype testing and counseling— especially to young women and children, empowering them with the knowledge to make informed decisions about genetic compatibility, marriage, and family planning.
This effort is part of our broader mission to raise awareness for sickle cell disorder (SCD) and ensure better healthcare access for SCD warriors especially in underserved communities.
We’re deeply thankful to the Iwaya community for their warm welcome, and to the amazing volunteers who helped to made this possible—
@tosin.ag @eniola_shonbike @topboy_thephotographer @ilamp_initiative Iya Ibeji and Nurse Idowu🙏🏽
Witnessing so many smiles, debunking dangerous myths and stigmas about SCD warriors and leaving the community members well equipped with their genetic information and compatibility felt very fulfilling.
The mission continues: Follow us
@cksi.ngo to Learn more about what we do, to stay informed and to Join us in creating a future where informed health choices and accessible care are a reality for all❤️
