Before too much time passes, I have to share some pics from A Few Good Men, which played for one weekend only at @woodminstermusicals . The play is a powerhouse, which most of us know from the fantastic movie with Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, and Jack Nicholson. The set was simple, the dialogue fast and witty, and the cast was incredible! I had so much playing the Seargent at Arms in the court, along with a couple smaller characters, Tom and Corporal Dunn. It was a wonderful way to end the summer. Thank you to the amazing cast and the crew from #woodminstersummermusicals and my family and friends who came to the show 🙏🏻
Five years ago today, this little guy walked into the waiting room at the shelter. He came up to the bench where we sat and sniffed us, then stood up and put his paws on the bench. God he was so cute. We asked to take him for a walk. He was shy, patient, easy, and sweet. He was neither hyper or lazy. Just peaceful. I usually think carefully and take time over big decisions, but after 20 minutes I said, “I think this is my dog.” Even as I say it now I can feel I was falling in love with him already. The last five years with him have changed me. I call myself his Dad, but he also takes care of me everyday. I sleep more peacefully because he is there. I wake up happier because he is there. We have spent more time outside exploring than I probably did in the 20 years before I met him. He makes me laugh constantly. He makes me appreciate how beautiful a tree or trail can be, and really gave me a new appreciation for how much happiness it is possible to have in this lifetime. I owe him so much. Until I had an electric car, I worried about long trips taking extra time. It never occurred to me that the forced breaks would make the trips so much more fun and relaxing. I love road trips even more now because I get to walk with my dog and explore new places and go shopping and get a snack. This morning…downtown #burbank . What an honor to receive my first TONY award! I’d like to thank @raychalom and @jay_smast for always believing in me. I remember telling them so many years ago that I was taking my first singing lesson. It was after COVID, but like barely.
