July 13, 2025 – the 40th anniversary of the Live Aid concert.
I could hardly believe my luck that I was able to spend this day with Simple Minds — my heroes, who delivered an incredible performance in Philadelphia at Live Aid.
And when I then found out that Thomas Dolby would be supporting — the very artist who performed “Heroes” together with David Bowie at Wembley during Live Aid — I truly couldn’t believe my luck.
This special moment will remain in my heart forever.
I still remember sitting in front of the television and radio 40 years ago as a teenager, recording everything — and now, on this memorable day, having the heroes of my youth right there in front of me.
And when Thomas Dolby played “Heroes” in a sampled version of the original Live Aid performance, I was completely overwhelmed — I had goosebumps all over.
Thank you for these wonderful moments. Thank you, Thomas Dolby — and thanks to the Simple Minds — for these unforgettable memories, Todde 🙏🏻🫶🏻
