Curated by Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre.
The Red Bear Singers use music as a force for healing.
The group started singing together during their programming circles at Toronto Council Fire in 2018 where the goal was to continue each member’s healing journey through a process of cultural empowerment.

May 5th is National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People.
Today we honour every relative that has been lost to the national crisis, and honour the families who never stopped fighting for their loved one’s memory, never stopped saying their names, and never gave up on seeking justice.
We encourage you to use this day to stand in solidarity with the families and communities of MMIWGT2S+. Attend your local gatherings and vigils, wear red and your Red Dress items; have the hard conversations. Learn about the National Inquiry’s Final Report and the 231 Calls for Justice. Contact your MP to demand the implementation of the 231 Calls for Justice.
Say their names.
If you know of another MMIWG event happening today, please share them below.

Our MMIWG Family Wellness Team warmly invites you to our second annual Community Drop‑In Beading Circle ahead of Red Dress Day.
We will be hosting the beading circle over two days — April 30 and May 1, with drop‑in hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Community members are welcome to come anytime to learn how to bead a red dress or red shirt pin in honour of all our Missing and Missed relatives. You are welcome to come anytime during those hours. There is no need to stay for the full day or both days — just join us when it works for you
This year, we will gather at the TASSC Office, 660 Dundas St E, Floor 3, Unit 2‑3.
For those who wish to honour a loved one lost to the MMIWGMBT2S+ Crisis, we will hold a special remembrance space with medicines, a spirit plate, and room to place photos. This space is meant to honour their lives, their memory, and the love that continues to carry them.
We welcome Community Partners to join us and bring any information or resources their organizations offer to support the safety and well-being of our community. This helps community members connect with services, build relationships, and learn about supports available to them.

🖐️ The Hand Method for Perfect Portions
Palm = Protein: Use the size and thickness of your palm for servings of chicken, fish, or beans.
Fist = Carbs: One rounded fist is the ideal amount for rice, pasta, or potatoes.
Open Hand = Veggies: Aim for at least one giant handful (or two!) to fill half your plate with colorful vegetables.
Thumb = Fats: For high-energy extras like butter, oil, or peanut butter, stick to the size of your thumb.
