Toby Wallace is entering the world of Assassin's Creed.
He's the first series regular cast for the live-action series adaptation of Ubisoft's best-selling video game franchise.
From 'Babyteeth' to The 'Bikeriders', Toby Wallace is having an excellent time playing the antagonist – and Hollywood is taking notice. After winning multiple awards for his breakout performance as a small-time drug dealer in 2019's 'Babyteeth' – including one of Venice's highest accolades – the Australian actor appears alongside Austin Bulter, Tom Hardy and Jodie Comer in 'The Bikeriders', as a volatile yet damaged kid who's desperate to join a motorcycle gang.
"I enjoy meddling with those characters, because it's fun to show two sides of them. Often, it's the antithesis to what you'd think it would be," Wallace tells Esquire's @amycammpbell . "If I don't find the playful nature of a character, sometimes, I get a little bit stuck. But when I do, I think it's when I'm at my best."
Ahead of The Bikeriders premiere, we spent a day driving around Sydney with Wallace, who is Esquire's July 2024 digital cover star. We spoke about ambition, nerves, and his feelings towards fame. Hit the link in bio for the full photoshoot and interview with the Australian star.
