With the incredibly exciting news that “Ser Semilla” got selected for the Graduation films Competition at @annecyfestival !!!!
I almost fainted from the news (and cried a little jaja). This film was possible thanks to all the people who me echaron porras, supported me, listened to me endlessly, and who challenged my thoughts throughout (a mis amigas, mi familia and my professors -always so deeply grateful for you 💕). To @mattis_appelqvist for the music, and @yarcuof for the sound, to @roza_zik and @el_malolo for lending your talents, a @macaria.r por darle aliento a las mujeres del bosque y a @polo_mares por el color: the short wouldn’t be what it is without you! And to @re.anima.emjmd for giving me the time, structure, support and allowing me to meet so many wonderful people throughout the 2 years.

For this project I’m also playing with different dances from both India and Mexico - this was made with the help from Kathak dancers. And once more @andres_volkov in the music side of it all (playing with the idea of how the music between the countries could converse and infuse each other)

2d hand drawn animation with natural pigments from hibiscus and marigold flowers and colored pencils.
I am happy to share a few extracts of the work I did this year thanks to FONCA JC Grant. I hope these will become part of a new short film which is cooking up!
Using the cempasuchil (marigold) to talk about migration and home/coming, with elements from its two main homes in Mexico and India. The music was done by @andres_volkov ! Que gustazo ser jovenes y creadores juntos!
All the animation was 2d hand drawn with natural pigments, mainly marigold, hibiscus, buganvillea, as well as turmeric, and more. As well as some colored pencils.
