Hey guys… we just pre-launched the Ultimate Rigging Course on Kickstarter 👀
After more than a year of working on it, it’s finally here 💜
Here’s the cinematic to officially kick things off 🎬
Hope you enjoy it… and feel free to share it with your friends and family

🎬 Behind the scenes of the cinematic promo we made for @ruyuistudios — bringing their new figurine and Web3 character to life in full 3D.
🛠️ Made entirely in #Blender from the ground up!
From storyboarding, visual development, modeling, and rigging,
to animation, VFX, sound design, and the final render. We handled it all!

1,255% funded! 🥳
When we launched this course, we were worried how the campaign might do, considering the current phase we're in.
What you guys actually did was blow past every goal we set and then keep going!
Every stretch goal we hit unlocked more content, more tools, more lessons.
The version of this course that gets delivered to every backer now is much bigger and more complete than what we originally planned. The course will truly live up to its name "The Ultimate Rigging Course".
So thank you. To every single person who backed this, shared it, or just believed we could pull it off again. You didn't just pre-order a course. You built it with us.
With love,
TOAnimate Team❤️

If your eye geometry wobbles when rotating… this is probably why 👀
The pivot of your eye bone needs to be perfectly centered.
One tiny setup step can make your eyes rotate way cleaner
• Use Shift + S menu to snap things to and from the cursor
• Alt + Left Click to select edge loops on the eyeball
• Snap the bone in edit mode to the dead center of the eye to ensure smooth rotations
Only 1 day to go on Kickstarter

We're rigging the shoes too.. 😎
The cage you see around the shoe is called a proxy mesh, a simplified deformer that can act on more complex objects. The shoe is being driven by the proxy via a "mesh deform" modifier.
The Kickstarter is nearly done, last chance to enroll pre-release and at a huge discount!

Have you tried using a single bone to drive another bone’s rotation and position? 🧐
Just 5 days left on Kickstarter. Don’t miss out (link in bio)

Car rig asset reveal 🚗
You’ll go through building tracks, setting up suspension, and using custom pivots for smooth, realistic animation.
We'll be adding more assets as we hit higher stretch-goals with our Kickstarter. link in bio!

Fix your blink shape key with these steps 👀
• Try to match the vertex count on the top and bottom eyelids
• Use the snap to vertex tool to snap the top verts directly onto the bottom ones for a clean closed shape
• Select outer edge loops and use edge slide to spread them out evenly over the eyelid
• Use alt+S to scale along the normal and bulge out the eyelid loops to prevent eye intersection
Bonus tip: If intersections happen at the inbetween point, a corrective shape key will be needed that activates halfway along the blink, and deactivates at the end
Final days to join us on Kickstarter (link in bio)

Think rigging a simple worm is easy? 🐛
Hint: The "Stretch To" constraint can yield a lot of simplified, yet creative solutions such as this!
This is one of the many exercises in the beginner section of the the Ultimate Rigging Course.
Up on Kickstarter for 12 more days (link in bio)

Tip to remember: 🧐
A mesh can be directly parented to a bone, or attached through skinning/weight painting for more complex deformation.
