Radiant Eulogy II [vkr006re2] - Out Now.🔈🔉🔊 RADIANT EULOGY II [VKR006RE2], the second release of the Radiant Eulogy series: a single, monumental track from destroying our releases, in this case our album Wicked Zen (2020). This is not a studio recording; it is the entombement of a dying medium. The master tape for Wicked Zen was left exposed to the sun for months. The relentless UV radiation and thermal cycling caused the magnetic oxide to chemically fracture and the tape binder to disintegrate. The result is a sound that cannot be synthesized: a dense, tectonic drone where the band's heavy riffs are buried under the unpredictable, high-frequency crackle of a physical signal collapsing in real-time. We have captured this moment of decay and re-digitized it, preserving the exact texture of the sun-scorched tape as a journey into the sonic aftermath of entropy to honour the medium's original fragility. In this case, the first 15 minutes were the only part that was really left in one bit and these minutes are the parts of the cassette, which we were able to save for the redigitalization. After that the empty parts and sunburnt cassette return to a "ghost" state for which we switched the pedalboard on to increase the intensity of the dying recording.
