⚠️As temperatures begin to increase, you’ll be hearing a lot of messages from us to avoid outdoor activities that can start fires. Be equipped with hand tools or water to put out small fires you may accidentally start. Never engage in any activities that could spark/spread fires on windy days. Activities include target shooting, welding, and even off-roading without a spark arrestor. #WildfireAwarenessMonth
Today was all smiles, sirens, and lots of excitement at Lemmon Valley Elementary School and Pinecrest Academy as our TMFR Firefighters met many #FutureFirefighters.
Our firefighters had a great time showing off the engines, talking fire safety, and letting the kids explore the trucks up close. Nothing beats seeing the excitement on a child’s face when they get to sit in a fire engine and meet the crews who serve their community every day. With TMFR Engine 44 and Engine 46🚒

The Gerlach Volunteer Fire family stepped up this weekend for their community. Our dedicated volunteers responded to the call while also sharpening their wildland firefighting skills ahead of fire season. Their commitment, teamwork, and willingness to serve makes a tremendous difference for Gerlach and the surrounding region.
We are proud to welcome these volunteers into our extended fire service family and grateful for the time and sacrifice they give to help protect Gerlach. Here’s to a safe and successful fire season ahead. 🔥🚒

Earlier this weekend, #TMFR crews responded to a vehicle fire in the Lemmon Valley area after the initial alarm came in as a vegetation fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters located an unoccupied vehicle fully involved and threatening nearby wildland fuels. Crews acted quickly to contain the fire and limit extension into surrounding vegetation.
Thanks to the coordinated response, the fire was knocked down quickly with no injuries reported to civilians or fire personnel.
Thank you to our partners at Reno Fire Department for their assistance.
There’s nothing better than community, connection, and a little hometown fun at Washoe Valley Days!
Our firefighters had a good time meeting residents, sharing smiles, showing the engine, and celebrating everything that makes Washoe Valley such a special place to call home.
Thank you to everyone who came out today. We’re proud to be part of the Washoe Valley family! 🚒❤️

Proof that some traditions in the fire service never go out of style… yes, we still rescue cats. 🐈🚒
Today, our firefighters safely retrieved a cat from the roof of a home and got the furry little resident back down just in time for dinner. While calls like these may bring a smile, they’re also a reminder that serving our community means helping whenever we’re needed. Big calls or small ones.

May is Wildfire Awareness Month. As the weather becomes warmer and wildland vegetation, or fuels, begin to dry out, it is time to plan for the wildfires.
During a wildfire, embers are the primary cause of home fires. Residents can harden homes, minimizing property damage and protecting firefighters. Help reduce the risk to firefighters and communities by hardening your home against ember intrusion and creating defensible space on your property.

🔥Had a great time connecting with Future Firefighters and staff at Jerry Whitehead Elementary for their career day. Opportunities like this are so important, building trust, sharing knowledge, and showing our young people the many ways we serve and protect our community.🚒
Thank you to everyone who helped make it a success, and to the students for their curiosity, energy, and great questions.
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
As you celebrate today, remember to keep safety in mind, whether you’re cooking, grilling, or gathering with friends and family. Proud to serve and protect our community every day. Stay safe and enjoy the celebration
