The Thurston Lewis Mason Central Labor Council - TLM CLC believes that all working people - whether they live in Minneapolis or Shelton, Centralia or Olympia - deserve to be safe in their workplaces and in their homes and communities. As Minnesota AFL-CIO President Bernie Burnham said in a statement supporting today’s Day of Truth and Freedom, “ICE’s continued occupation, actions, and tactics are harming communities throughout Minnesota and making us all less safe. They are indiscriminately targeting Minnesotans of color, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. Many people are fearful of daily activities like going to work, shopping for groceries, and sending their children to school.” We know what is happening right now in Minnesota could happen in our communities at any time. We call on all working people in our region to stand in solidarity with our brothers, sisters and siblings in Minnesota and anywhere ICE has been assaulting workers' ability to assemble, speak out, and live with dignity. Today we encourage you and your fellow workers to: 🧊🚫 Share the Minnesota AFL-CIO’s statement on your social media 🧊🚫 Attend a demonstration near you 🧊🚫 Wear blue and post photos tagging #MNAFLCIO. Solidarity - standing together to fight for the rights of all working people - is the cornerstone of our Labor movement. Please take some time today to show your solidarity with the working people of Minnesota, and anywhere in the country impacted by ICE. #LaborFightsBack #YourUnionFightsForYOU #JoinYourLocalUnion #Solidarity #Together #SolidarityForever
