Music brought Brent and me to Austin in 2022, and although we’ve since moved, I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to continue to contribute to the community in a small way :)
Thanks to @kmfaclassical for the invitation to curate another concert as a part of their Midday Series, my co-conductor @tjanderson00 , and the incredible musicians who pulled off a tough program! Also, be on the lookout for a new album by @stepheniansavage – we started working on editing this week with @eliseetherton , and I’m excited to see it come to life in the coming months.

ICYMI: CCM welcomed alumnus and civil rights activist Jim Obergefell (CECH, '90) for a panel discussion and CCM Wind Ensemble performance in February!
Supported by a grant from the Harmony Fund at CCM, Obergefell visited campus with composer Viet Cuong for the CCM Wind Ensemble's performance of Cuong's "John and Jim." The piece was composed to celebrate Obergefell and John Arthur, the couple at the center of the landmark Supreme Court ruling that legalized gay marriage in 2015.

Spring semester is keeping us busy (we have our second concert next week!), but I finally had a moment to check out videos from our Fall term. Working on @davebied ’s Enigma was SUCH a joy for me and the students, and I am so glad we had the chance to perform it! I’m very proud to work with these students :)
This must be the most commonly performed Christmas medley of all time, right? I had a blast guest conducting on last year’s Butler School of Music Holiday Concert, which included The University of Texas Wind Ensemble. Happy Holidays, all!
